ICF hours and CCE tracking
Your ICF hours, counted from the work you already did. Both halves of the credential, in one place.
Stop keeping a separate spreadsheet of coaching hours. Your sessions already live in CoachTide, so your hours total themselves as you complete them: paid and pro bono apart, progress toward ACC, PCC and MCC, reciprocal exchanges credited correctly, and your CCEUs for renewal kept in the same place.
- Paid and pro bono apart

- CCEUs for renewal

What it keeps for you
No end-of-quarter reconstruction. The hours add up while you coach.
The hours math is the job that waits until the week before you apply. Here it is done session by session, from records you already keep.
- Session doneOne more hour counted. Nothing to copy anywhere.
- Paid or pro bonoLabelled from the package and the invoice behind it.
- ReciprocalA complete peer exchange, credited as one paid hour.
- GroupA group session of eight, counted once for its length.
- RenewalEthics credits logged. 3 of 3, done for this cycle.

Counted, not logged
Hours that total themselves, the way the ICF counts them.
Every number on the page comes from the sessions you have marked complete. No retyping, no second copy to fall out of date.
Counted from completed sessions
Mark a session done and its hour is already in your total. There is no second log to keep in step with your calendar.
Paid and pro bono kept apart
Each session is labelled from the package or invoice behind it, or from your own default. One click changes it, and the label stays put once set.
ACC, PCC and MCC progress
Your total hours and your paid hours are both checked against each level, side by side, because the ICF asks for both.
The last 18 months, as of today
A live count of the hours inside the recent window the ICF asks about for ACC and PCC, so you know when you are ready to apply.
Real clock hours
A 45 minute session counts as 0.75 of an hour, not a whole one. The numbers you submit match the time you coached.
Group sessions counted once
A group or cohort session counts once for its length, never once per member, the way the ICF counts it.
ACC, PCC and MCC
What each level asks for, next to where you stand.
CoachTide shows your progress against the coaching experience the ICF lists for each credential. These are the figures the product checks today.
| Level | Total coaching hours | Of those, paid | Clients | In the last 18 months |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ACC | 100 | 75 | 8 | 25 hours |
| PCC | 500 | 450 | 25 | 50 hours |
| MCC | 2,500 | 2,250 | 35 | Not stated |
The ICF sets these requirements and changes them from time to time. Confirm the current figures on the ICF's own credentialing pages before you apply.
Reciprocal and group
The rules that trip people up, kept straight.
Reciprocal coaching is easy to get wrong in a spreadsheet. A complete exchange (you coach them, they coach you) credits one ICF hour, and an unmatched session waits for its pair. The ICF treats coaching exchanged for coaching as barter, and barter as payment, so that hour lands in your paid total.
- A complete reciprocal exchange counts as one paid hour
- A group session counts once for its length, not once per member
- Client contact details kept with each relationship, ready if the ICF asks to verify
- 14.0 hours from completed sessions
- 12.0 paid, 2.0 pro bono
- Started Feb 2025, contact on file
Both halves of the credential
Your CCEUs for renewal, in the same place as your hours.
Other coaching tools export an ICF hours log. None of them track the other half of the credential: continuing education by category and mentor coaching. CoachTide does both, in the place that already holds your sessions.
Log a CCE the moment you complete it and your renewal record stays current, checked against the ICF's three-year cycle: 40 credits, at least 24 in Core Competencies and at least 3 in ethics.
- CCEUs tracked toward your three-year renewal, by category
- Core Competency, ethics and mentor coaching kept distinct
- Mentor coaching counted inside the 24 Core Competency credits, as the ICF allows (up to 10 hours, and required for ACC renewal)
- A plain-language check of your cycle, so renewal is never a last-minute search
Renewal requirements are set by the ICF and change from time to time. Confirm them on the official ICF pages before you renew.
Ready to submit
Two exports, shaped like the forms the ICF asks for.
The application log
One row per client in the columns of the ICF's own Client Coaching Log template: paid and pro bono hours, contact details, and start and end dates. Download it as Excel or CSV.
The renewal summary
Every CCE entry in your current cycle, with a pass or shortfall line for each ICF rule and your mentor coaching hours.
Before you submit, it names what the ICF would ask about
- A client with no contact details on file
- A group session over the ICF's 15-person limit without a co-coach
- A completed session you have not labelled paid or pro bono yet
Fix each one from the same page, one at a time or several at once.

Questions
ICF hours tracking, answered
Is CoachTide approved by the ICF, or is this credentialing advice?
Neither. CoachTide is not ICF-vetted software, and nothing it shows is credentialing advice. It keeps your records and checks them against the ICF figures as published, so you arrive at your application with the numbers ready. The ICF sets the rules and decides every application.
How does it decide whether a session was paid or pro bono?
When you complete a session, CoachTide labels it from the strongest signal it has: your own choice first, then a pro bono or paid package, then an invoice for the session, then your default. You can change any label in one click, and once set it stays put, so your history does not shift later.
Do reciprocal coaching sessions count?
Yes, the way the ICF counts them. A complete exchange, where you coach a peer and they coach you, credits one hour, and because the ICF treats barter as payment that hour counts as paid. A session waiting for its pair is not counted until the exchange is complete.
How are group and cohort sessions counted?
Once, for the length of the session, however many people attended. The export warns you about a group larger than the ICF allows without a co-coach, so you can fix it before you submit.
Can I bring in the hours I coached before CoachTide?
Yes. Bring your past clients and sessions over from a spreadsheet or your old tool with the importer, and they count toward your totals like any other completed session. The importer maps your file by its column headings and does not read your clients' records to do it.
Does CoachTide send my application to the ICF?
No. You download the application log or the renewal summary and submit it yourself, through the ICF, the way you always would.
Where do my CCEUs come from?
You log each one when you complete it: what it was, who ran it, its category and its credits. CoachTide keeps them in your current three-year cycle and shows what is still needed.
Let your hours count themselves. Coach the session. The math is done.
